visa

Obtaining a tourist visa for Bhutan is a straightforward process, overseen by the Department of Immigration with strict monitoring. Tourists are required to pay a visa fee of US$40. Currently, the prevailing SDF rate for US Dollar-paying tourists visiting Bhutan is USD 100 per person per day. Children aged between 6 and 12 years who are visiting as tourists are eligible for a 50% discount on the SDF. Tourists can make these payments directly to the designated government agency or through us, your travel agency, which will then remit the fees to the government.

The issued visa is valid only for the intended travel plan. If a tourist desires to extend their stay in Bhutan, the local travel agency can facilitate the visa extension.

In the unfortunate event of a need to cancel the trip to Bhutan, the following cancellation conditions apply:

a. If the cancellation is communicated 30 days before the date of arrival in Bhutan, 10% of the total tour costs will be withheld.

b. If the cancellation is communicated 15 days before the date of arrival in Bhutan, 50% of the total tour costs will be withheld.

c. If the cancellation is communicated 10 days before the date of arrival in Bhutan, 85% of the total tour costs will be withheld.

d. If the cancellation is communicated less than 7 days before the date of arrival in Bhutan, there will be no refund of the payment made.

Please keep these conditions in mind when planning your journey to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
